Xcode MCP server & Claude connector
Does Xcode have an official MCP server or Claude connector?
Official
As of October 2026, Apple documents an official MCP server built into Xcode. External agents such as Claude Code connect to it through the xcrun mcpbridge command after you allow external agents in Xcode's Intelligence settings. It runs locally on your Mac, needs the project open in Xcode, and lets agents modify the project and build. Apple does not publish the tool list.

Run
- Let an external agent modify the open Xcode project and take actions such as building the app (individual tool names are not listed on the cited page)
From the publisher’s documentation for the version we checked. Not every tool is listed.
Setup
Safety check
- Pass
Publisher verified
Documented on developer.apple.com; mcpbridge is a command that ships with Xcode.
- Pass
Auth model
No credentials. Access is a local opt-in toggle in Xcode's Intelligence settings, and Xcode alerts you when an external agent connects and when it is active.
- Flag
Write and delete access
Apple says agents can modify your project and perform actions such as building; no read-only mode is documented.

Tool-description injection scan
Tool names and descriptions are not listed in Apple's article and the server was not run, so none were reviewed. The page itself has no AI-directed text.
