As of October 2026, Tableau (Salesforce) publishes an official MCP server, open source in the tableau GitHub org and documented at tableau.github.io. A hosted version at mcp.tableau.com uses OAuth 2.1 for Tableau Cloud; a self-hosted npx server uses a personal access token. It is listed in Anthropic's connector directory as Anthropic verified. Some tools can delete content.

  • ⚠ Write and delete access: Same tool set as hosted. Admin-only delete tool is gated by ADMIN_TOOLS_ENABLED; tool scoping env vars (e.g. INCLUDE_PROJECT_IDS) can limit reach.
