Salesforce MCP server & Claude connector
Does Salesforce have an official MCP server or Claude connector?
Official
As of October 2026, Salesforce publishes official hosted MCP servers (SObject Reads, Mutations, Deletes, All and others) at api.salesforce.com, reported generally available since April 2026. Admins must enable each server, and Claude connects as a custom connector via an External Client App. No directory connector was found. Salesforce's separate local DX server reaches end of life November 2, 2026.

Enter the External Client App consumer key and secret under Advanced, then Connect. Per Salesforce's developer blog and a third-party walkthrough.
SourceSafety check

Publisher verified
Endpoints are on api.salesforce.com and documented on developer.salesforce.com (Salesforce-owned). Direct fetches of those docs returned HTTP 403, so details come from search results and a third-party walkthrough.
- Pass
Auth model
OAuth via an External Client App with PKCE; scopes mcp_api and refresh_token; Claude callback https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback. Acts as the signed-in user, so profiles, sharing and field-level security apply (per third-party walkthrough).
- Flag
Write and delete access
Servers are split by capability: SObject Reads is read-only; Mutations create/update; Deletes delete-only; SObject All is full access. Sources conflict on whether SObject All includes delete. Choose the Reads server for read-only use; standard servers ship disabled.
- Unknown
Tool-description injection scan
Salesforce's tool reference pages returned HTTP 403, so tool descriptions were not read. Tool names come from a third-party walkthrough. CRM field contents returned to the model are untrusted input.
- Unknown
Repo maintenance
Hosted service; no public server repo, so repo metadata does not apply.

FAQ
Does Salesforce have an official MCP server?
Yes. Salesforce documents hosted MCP servers on developer.salesforce.com, served from api.salesforce.com, and a separate local Salesforce DX MCP server for developers.
Is there a Salesforce connector in Claude's directory?
None was found in Anthropic's directory pages as of October 2026. Salesforce's developer blog documents connecting Claude as a custom connector.
Can I make it read-only?
Salesforce splits servers by capability. SObject Reads is documented as read and query only. Enable only that server for read-only use. Salesforce permissions still apply to the signed-in user.
Is the Salesforce MCP free, and which editions work?
A third-party walkthrough reports Enterprise Edition and above plus Developer Edition, free at the time of writing with pricing subject to change. I could not confirm this on Salesforce's own pages.
