Google Calendar MCP server & Claude connector
Does Google Calendar have an official MCP server or Claude connector?
Official
As of October 2026, Google Calendar has an official Claude connector: Anthropic's directory lists it as made by Google, pointing at Google's remote Calendar MCP endpoint (calendarmcp.googleapis.com), a Developer Preview. Claude's docs say the connector is read-only, yet both Google's reference and the directory list create, update and delete event tools; the sources conflict, so test before relying on it.

calendarmcp.googleapis.com is a googleapis.com endpoint documented on developers.google.com. Anthropic's directory lists the connector as 'Made by Google' with the same connector URL.

OAuth 2.0 with your own Google Cloud OAuth client; scopes per Google's guide: calendar.calendarlist.readonly, calendar.events.freebusy and calendar.events.readonly. The Claude connector signs in with your Google account directly.

Write and delete access
Sources disagree. Claude's docs say Claude reads the calendar only and cannot create or change events or send invitations. Google's reference and Anthropic's directory both list create_event, update_event, delete_event and respond_to_event, while Google's setup guide lists only read/free-busy scopes (calendar.calendarlist.readonly, calendar.events.freebusy, calendar.events.readonly). Actual write behaviour was not tested; no read-only switch was verified.

FAQ
Is there an official Google Calendar connector for Claude?
Yes. Anthropic's directory lists Google Calendar as made by Google, using https://calendarmcp.googleapis.com/mcp/v1. Connect it under Customize > Connectors in claude.ai.
Can Claude create or change calendar events?
Sources conflict. Claude's docs say it only reads your calendar; Google's reference and Anthropic's directory list create_event, update_event and delete_event. Test with a harmless event first.
Which Claude plans include it?
Claude's docs say Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise an Owner or Primary Owner enables it before members can connect.
Does Google publish its own Calendar MCP server?
Yes, as a Developer Preview at calendarmcp.googleapis.com. Using it directly needs Developer Preview Program membership, a Google Cloud project and your own OAuth client.
