Does Gmail have an official Claude connector or MCP server?

Official

As of October 2026, Gmail has an official Claude connector: Anthropic's directory lists it as made by Google, pointing at Google's remote Gmail MCP endpoint (gmailmcp.googleapis.com). Google labels that server a Developer Preview and documents search, read, draft and label tools. Claude's own docs describe the connector as read-only; the directory shows more tools, so verify.

Go to Customize > Connectors in claude.ai, find Gmail, select Connect and sign in to Google. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner enables Gmail for the organization first.

To use Google's server directly, add a custom connector: Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, server name Gmail, URL https://gmailmcp.googleapis.com/mcp/v1, then your OAuth client ID and secret under Advanced settings (redirect URI https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback).

Is there an official Claude Gmail connector?

Yes. Anthropic's connector directory lists Gmail as made by Google, using https://gmailmcp.googleapis.com/mcp/v1. Connect it under Customize > Connectors in claude.ai.

Which Claude plans include the Gmail connector?

Claude's docs say Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise an Owner must enable it before members can connect.

Can Claude send email through the Gmail connector?

Sources conflict. Claude's docs say the connector is read-only; Google's server documents drafts but not sending; Anthropic's directory page lists send_message, reply and forward. Test with a draft first and review permissions.

Does Google publish its own Gmail MCP server?
